We are on a mission to create kaftans, thobes, & abayat that preserve and expand your cultural identity. Pieces that are part of your special occasions, passed down from your generation down to your daughters. Each piece is handmade by our team, with the love for all the intricate details. Our pieces allow you to have part of your culture in your closet.

Traditionally the kaftan, thobe, and abaya were made by the female who wore the piece. Females used the embroidery and colors to reveal her taste, emotion, desires, and identity. If a female hoped to become pregnant, the embroidery on her piece would reflect that. We work to create such diverse pieces to speak for each personality.

Every area has a different style and distinctive costume, some villages have multiple styles. The cut, type and color of fabric, embroidery patterns and stitches, the combinations of patterns and shares of color, all together created distinctions from one village design to another. Miss Universe Boutique (MUB) is based in Amman, Jordan. Established in 1987, it is a design house, the vision of Aida El-Sarabi.

We have created thousands of thobes and kuftans the past 30 years. We are obsessed with mixing embroidery, swarovski elements, and numerous fabrics. With the traditional process in mind, MUB does not mass manufacture, each piece is handmade in-house. Our process is ethical. 

We have transitioned into an online store in 2020, to better serve our international community, and are now called ShopMUB.

Our team is intimate. Twelve co-creators. Each member has no less than 10 years of experience, and is an expert in their stage of the process. Creating with a love for the details. Pieces that live on, from you to your daughter.

Depending on the piece you choose, it would be for one of our two designers. Aida El-Sarabi who has been in the industry for over 30 years creating elegant and timeless kuftans, and daughter Lina Mattar who creates modern dramatic arab influenced pieces.
